2003 Fred's Rocket

Welcome to the Youngs Racing webpage
Jeff had his hands full having to start in the 12th position and having a little skip in the engine but that didnt stop him from running hard through the field and ending up with a 4th place finish. this season in almost over with 1 race left and Jeff taking a hard charge at that 1st place in points.. His next and last race for this season will be nextweekend.. We welcome all the friends family and fans of the sport out to watch the last race of the season..Thanks to all of you for your oaly support and friendship.
The limited classes has engine built by the owners choice of engine builders which in our case is Donnie Minter. The speeds reached are much greater and can run anywhere between 100 to 140 mph depending on the setup of the car track conditions and the horsepower in your engine. The cars weight is same as at all the other tracks that run a limited late model class which is  weight depends on what equipment you have on the car such as dry sump pumps and so forth and the weight must include the driver. The rules for both classes can be found on Whtye raceways website. I do have a link for them in my racing links section Wythe does a great job on doning the car inspections they are inspected and weighed before and after qualifying.
On the Wythe Raceway website fourm there has been alot of fans wanting to get the track to start running the Limited Late Models every week. The exciting racing in that class has produced alot of posting requesting to see them guys running every week there putting on a great race. Its always hard racing and alot of action happening on the track so much where we use 2 spotters there. Mac the Crew Chief  calls the shots from the top of the truck while either Frank or John spots at the other end of the track. The size of the track makes it hard to see then entire track unless your up in the stands. We try to make sure Jeff  knows where everything is on the track to avoid wrecks and slower cars. Jeff has really adapted to Wythe very well. He has found the right groove to be in every week to make his way through the field. He is by far one of the toughest drivers on the track to pass.He will not give a inch but he makes sure he keeps it very clean racing. He will also get behind or under a driver and just be patient and wait for them to make a mistake. One slip up and he has been driving right by them. The new car is working out great. The engine is producing great horsepower. Hardest thing is trying to keep a white car clean!!
